In case you haven’t heard, Google announced this week the launch of Google+ Pages. Why is this important to you? Because the Google giant now allows your band or brand a presence on its huge SEO-rich network, connecting you with your fans and customers. Earlier this summer, Google+ was in beta and only allowed for personal profiles. Beta is over, the public is invited and is now 40 million users strong. With this week’s launch of Google+ Pages, many are saying this will be THE social network site for business so be sure to add this to your arsenal. You’ll want to take advantage of all the Google+ features to push out your message and content to your audience.
“You should, at this point, notice a certain refrain. Similar to Facebook. Like Twitter. Google has cannibalized the best features of both social networks.” – Abram Brown, Inc.com
I recommend you sign up now and stake claim to your company or band name before someone beats you to it. It only takes a few minutes and will be worth your time.
If you plan to manage the Page yourself, you can create it while logged into your personal profile. That’s what I did so I can easily manage my biz pages: GoGirlsMusic.com and Social Networks for Musicians. It allows me to easily toggle between the two as well as my personal page. However, be advised at this time only one login can manage a Page so if you plan to have others on board to run it, set up a new Google account for it so you don’t have to give out your personal login. If you already set it while logged into your personal page and want to change that, you’ll have to delete the Page and start over.
Here are some cool band and biz sites already up and running. This will give you some great ideas.
Mine are still a work-in-progress but at least I claimed them. You should do the same now. Read the articles below and get working on this. You’ll thank me later.
