Sometimes I find out about the coolest apps while surfing blog post comments. That happened yesterday as I read the Hypebot article: How To Market Music With Instagram Photo Sharing. Great read by the way!
SoundTracking is an awesome app made for iOS and Android. They hype it up as “sharing the soundtrack to your life”. You start off with a Music Search through their library, Music ID (just like Shazam) or songs in your iPod. Once you pick a tune, you can then choose a photo from their library or post your own image. There’s an option to select a location which is cool when you want to share that info. It links up to your Twitter, Facebook and Foursquare. You can easily surf your friends feeds and the trending feed. I really like how this app is so simple and easy to use.
I see great potential to market your music out to your fans or for someone like me who runs GoGirlsMusic.com, I can promote members of our roster all day long. I’ll be playing with it for days I’m sure!
