Hello! I’m Madalyn Sklar, a serial entrepreneur and social media influencer with nearly three decades of experience under my belt. Before transitioning to my current role as host of the Kratom Stories Podcast, Kratom Real Talk forum, and The Kratom Gals livestream series, I made significant strides in digital marketing, social media strategy, and community leadership.
Pioneering Digital Marketing
My entrepreneurial journey began in 1996 when I launched Cybersites Web Design, one of Houston’s first web design companies. This venture marked the onset of my long and rewarding career in the digital space. As the landscape evolved, so did my endeavors. I later rebranded my business to Orbit Web Design and worked with businesses large and small, building their very first web presence.
A Forerunner in Online Communities
Recognizing early the power of social connections through the internet, I founded GoGirlsMusic in 1996, a groundbreaking online community for female musicians. This platform showcased my knack for community building and set the stage for my future as a social media guru. In 2005, I dove fully into social media, managing multiple client accounts and imparting wisdom as a social media coach and strategist.
#TwitterSmarter and Beyond
One of my most recognized contributions to social media was the creation of the #TwitterSmarter brand with its widely popular Twitter chat and podcast. This platform became a weekly congregation for social media enthusiasts and experts to share and learn cutting-edge Twitter marketing strategies.

Over the years, I've been privileged to speak at major conferences like SXSW and Social Media Marketing World, sharing the stage with other industry giants. And I've been featured in top publications like Huffington Post, which named me one of 50 Must-Follow Women Entrepreneurs.

While I have pivoted from digital marketing to focus on my Kratom Stories Podcast, Kratom Real Talk forum, and The Kratom Gals livestream, the skills and experiences from my formative years continue to influence my current endeavors. I am dedicated to sharing healing stories and advocating for Kratom's benefits, applying the same zeal and expertise that defined my career in digital marketing.
